This Monday (06/13), from 09:00 to 17:00, the Prefecture of Fortaleza continues its vaccination campaign against Covid-19. The first, second, third and fourth doses will be applied at specific points as described below.

On June 9, Fortaleza City Council began applying the fourth dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to health workers who received the third dose at least four months ago. The application of the new booster dose does not need to be pre-programmed, in free application mode, in places where the vaccine against Covid-19 is being vaccinated, according to the daily schedule published on the Fortaleza Town Hall website.

The 4th dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in the population over 50 years of age

The Prefecture of Fortaleza began applying the fourth dose of the Covid-19 vaccine on June 6 to the population over the age of 50 who received the third dose at least four months ago. The Ministry of Health has recommended the application of the fourth dose in this age group this Friday (06/03). The public over the age of 60 has already been released to receive the fourth dose since May of this year.

3rd dose of Covid-19 vaccine in adolescents

On May 31, Fortaleza City Council began administering a third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to teens over the age of 12 who received a second dose four months ago. The application will follow the free application mode, without the need for prior programming, in the areas where the vaccine against Covid-19 is being carried out, according to the daily schedule published on the Fortaleza Town Hall website.

On May 27, the Ministry of Health recommended the application of a third dose to adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17. The expansion is aimed at strengthening protection against Covid-19.

Covid-19 control measures

According to state and municipal decrees (April 14, 2022), Fortaleza City Council reinforces the continued use of the mask in health care facilities such as hospitals, polyclinics, medical and dental clinics, health posts and Emergency Care Units (Upas). ). He is also driving the use of masks by the elderly, those with comorbidities or those with flu symptoms. At vaccination points against Covid-19 in the capital, the PMF recommends the use of masks.

Required documents

Adults and Adolescents: When going to the vaccination center, it is necessary to present the original documents: identity (with photo), CPF, National Health Card (CNS) and an up-to-date proof of residence. In the case of a second dose, bring the vaccine card as well. Adolescents who do not have a DNI can bring a birth certificate along with a photo card, which can be a single card or a student card.

Immunocompromised: must carry documentation proving immunodepression.

Kids: At the time of vaccination, it will be necessary to present the number of the National Health Card (CNS) and the official identification document of the child, which may be one of the following options: birth certificate, identity card or passport. You will also need to provide an up-to-date proof of residence and the original photo ID of the child’s guardian at the time of application.

The Prefecture of Fortaleza reinforces that the application of the vaccine to children with a positive Covid-19 follows the same recommendation of the adult public, according to the Brazilian Immunization Association (SBIm).

Children with Covid-19 should receive the immunizing agent only 30 days after the onset of symptoms and a positive result in asymptomatic cases. In negative cases of coronavirus, but with flu-like syndrome, the vaccine should be removed within 48 hours of the symptoms disappearing.
