Tennessee baseball and Oklahoma softball are all about their sports

As the season draws to a close, both teams are at the top of the college baseball and softball world, above their rivals.

In baseball, Tennessee is the favorite to win the College World Series after a 53-7 season. In softball, it’s Oklahoma, an almost compelling 54-2.

Tennessee has achieved its impressive record and no. While ranked 1st in the tough Southeastern Conference, he has nine teams in the tournament, including three other top 16 finishers. Tennessee finished that hard board with a 25-5 conference record, winning four in a row to take the SEC championship.

Drew Gilbert hit .385 this season, and Trey Lipscomb had a .737 slugging rate with 21 homers. But the whole Tennessee lineup could hurt you. Eight players have reached double-digit homes this season, though most were between 150 and 200 at once. The team’s slugging percentage was .604, the best in Level I, and it ranked fourth in the base average.

But even though the players are great, the main problem with the opponents is that Tennessee is very difficult to play against. The top five majors published ERAs ranging from 1.67 to 2.61 and allowed batting averages of .159 to .213. The staff led Level I with an ERA of 2.35, and there was no other team below 3.00.

Three players are expected to attend Major League Baseball in the first round of the 2022 draft: Gilbert; Jordan Beck, another knockout; and Blade Tidwell pitcher, despite missing much of the season with an injury.

But even though the volunteers have dominated this season, they can’t be sure. The College World Series is very difficult to win. Although the history of the double playoffs is not so difficult for the first seed, the next best three “superregionals” are generally against a tough opponent. And the current eight-team World Series usually has to win among the top five or top-10 teams to win the title.

As a result, high seed yields have fallen steadily over the years. In fact, Miami was the last issue in 1999. 1 to win. Since then, he has won three of the 20 tournaments. Nos. 2 and three 3 have won, but the top eight have won nine times, compared to 11 teams that are not in the top eight.

And Tennessee is not traditionally the dominant power in college baseball. Although the volunteers made it to the College World Series last season, they were tied for seventh place, a record they lost to the SEC in all seasons from 2006 to 2019. He was runner-up in the World Series in 1951.

So even though they are in favor of oddsmakers, they are not very short priced. They are now only 5-2 (the next best are Oregon State No. 3 9-1 and No. 2 Stanford and No. 4 12-1 Virginia Tech).

To overcome that history, Tennessee will first need to win a team that includes Georgia Tech, Campbell and Alabama State, starting Friday at home, and then potentially No. 16 Georgia Southern for the Omaha World Series next week from June 17th. Then it’s likely to be in front of strong teams that can include most or all of the favorites.

College softball also has a major team this season. If so, he is hitting his rivals even harder.

Oklahoma has a 54-2 record, a regular 17-1 Big 12 season and five straight wins in the NCAA Championship, starting Thursday with eight Oklahoma City teams qualifying for the World Series.

His two losses were against Texas in the regular season and against the Oklahoma State in the SEC, with a score of 4-2 and 4-3. In contrast, his victories include numerous scores such as 21-0, 19-0 and 15-1. These margins would certainly be much higher without the softball rules of compassion, which stops the game after five innings with a team with at least eight points.

It’s terrifying for potential opponents that the Sooners will probably have to win twice to get rid of them. In previous rounds, Texas A&M suffered a narrow loss, 3-2, against Oklahoma. The rematch ended, 20-0.

Oklahoma is run by Jocelyn Alo, a college player of the year who has scored more home runs in his career than any other player in Division I history. He has 29 homers this year and is slugging .497 (both second in the nation) and 1,163. It’s not the only threat: Tiare Jennings has 24 homers and Grace Lions has 21. The team has hit .369, the best in the nation.

And good luck running against them. Hope Trautwein is 18-1 with a 0.40 ERA national best. How do you publish such an impressive number? In short, throw away just 104⅓ tickets while giving only six runs.

Jordy Bahl, the national first team of the year, is 21-1 with the 0.95 INSTITUTION Do you think it will give you a chance to win the third title? Nicole May is 15-0, 0.99 USE

And the story is much more polite with the first seeds of the Women’s College World Series. No. He has won 1 in four of the last 10 years, including last season’s number one. 1: Who else but Oklahoma?

But in that World Series, Oklahoma lost its first game against James Madison, 4-3, in eight innings: a ray of hope for those who have nightmares about Trautwein’s fastballs and Alo bombs.
