See the schedule of vaccinations against Covid-19 this Wednesday (06/01)

This Wednesday (06/01), from 09:00 to 17:00, the Prefecture of Fortaleza continues its vaccination campaign against Covid-19. The first, second, third and fourth doses will be applied at specific points as described below.

3rd dose of Covid-19 vaccine in adolescents

Starting this Tuesday (05/31), Fortaleza City Council will begin applying the third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to adolescents over the age of 12 who received a second dose four months ago. The application will follow the free application mode, without the need for prior programming, in the areas where the vaccine against Covid-19 is being carried out, according to the daily schedule published on the Fortaleza Town Hall website.

Last Friday (05/27), the Ministry of Health recommended the application of a third dose to adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17. The expansion is aimed at strengthening protection against Covid-19.

Covid-19 control measures

According to state and municipal decrees (April 14, 2022), Fortaleza City Council reinforces the continued use of the mask in health care facilities such as hospitals, polyclinics, medical and dental clinics, health posts and Emergency Care Units (Upas). ). He is also driving the use of masks by the elderly, those with comorbidities or those with flu symptoms. At vaccination points against Covid-19 in the capital, the PMF recommends the use of masks.

The Prefecture of Fortaleza reinforces that the application of the vaccine to children with a positive Covid-19 follows the same recommendation of the adult public, according to the Brazilian Immunization Association (SBIm).

Children with Covid-19 should receive the immunizing agent only 30 days after the onset of symptoms and a positive result in asymptomatic cases. In negative cases of coronavirus, but with flu-like syndrome, the vaccine should be removed within 48 hours of the symptoms disappearing.
