As soon as his contract with Cruzeiro ended, he drove to Buenos Aires, Argentina. He says he continues to train physically.

“I’m training with a teacher, a physical trainer, a team of players without a club. After all, we can’t lose our fitness. I want to play more, I know I can play more. I feel good about football, I also care a lot I have, ”he said.

Readjustment and tranquility

After returning to his home country, Cabral went through a period of readjustment. He also wanted to spend more time with his family.

“That’s the thought. I’m here, in good shape, waiting and looking at some of the club’s situation. I had some proposals at the beginning of the year, but since I arrived with my family, everything is new,” he said.

Colo-Colo, Chile, and Cerro Porteo, Paraguay, were some clubs that showed interest in signing the Argentine, according to Cabral.

“Some clubs talked to me, asking about the situation. But nothing happened, it was just words, I wanted people to ask me if I wanted to play, but nothing firm,” he said.

Another factor that caused him to lose his club was his father’s longing. The player still lost his family in 2020, when he was living in Brazil. However, he missed the routine even more this year.

“Of course I was very sad, hurt, in the sense of emotion, but I think when I came back here, to be calmer this year too, I started to miss my father a lot. I was very upset, I thought about staying.

career pursuit

Although he prioritized staying in Argentina in early 2022, Ariel Cabral says he has a different mindset at the moment. With the difficulties of the market, he tends to accept a potential proposal from foreign clubs.

“Now, six months back, I can say that I’m thinking about other things, because the market is sometimes too closed to choose things to play with, and time goes by. I would leave Argentina for the time being, ”he said.

Finally, the 34-year-old midfielder has ruled out retiring in the coming months. He does not have a specific date for this to happen and says he is eager to play football again.

“I didn’t end my career. I lost a lot of play in those six months. Now I want to play a lot, I look like a 20-year-old boy who wants to run. Normal, football. The player was born playing and never wants to stop. Really I want to, and now I can’t talk, ”Cabral concluded.
